Sweeny Todd opens tomorrow.

When I was but a small young strapping lad, I saw my first Broadway musical called Sweeny Todd. This incredible musical inspired my love of musicals, opera, & classical music in general. What makes this particular musical gone movie interesting is it’s rather dark themed nature and amazing storyline twist at the end.

I would like to know others opinions about the storyline and if you are planning of seeing the musical gone movie. For those who may not be aware the original Broadway musical stared Angela Lansbury (Murder she wrote, A LOT of Disney music cartoon films, etc) as Mrs. Lovett. It was this role that Angela Landsburry would most likey want to be remembered for.

I’m aware that there are a lot of young people on these forums who might not have any interest in seeing a musical. I hope you will set aside prejudices and still get a chance to see this unique story in the theater. Perhaps you might broaden your horizons and gain an appreciation for musicals in general.
